Being the Victor

Facilitating a training session on  "How to benefit from Digital media as students and the need to promote PEACE as young people" My life is victory personified. My dad believes in winning against all odds. My mum always has her hopes up high and ready to accommodate the aroma of victory from the heavens. My sisters know that tomorrow is never promised until you win today. It means that each of us has our very own battles to win daily. We consolidate our little victories. Thus, the family defines what it means to live while knowing that grace is sufficient for us.  Till we succeed, we shall continue to persist through perseverance with our mustard faith.  We are not superhumans; we are the family and together we achieve a lot. In our peculiarities, we strive to communion in this journey while supporting each other. Reaffirming that in our weakest moments, we have ourselves. Yes, we are the family. Life, as it unfolds, has many facets to it. I am planning to tell my D...

In 2020...

We defied the odds. We make history in the present. 'Normal' is a thing of the past. Together means miles apart. Not all theories are not potent. The context is valuable content. Our survival remains constant. The reality means your breath intake is consistent. The wall is the law. A winning trump card is forbidden. And home shielded us from the omen. We understood that all things are possible. Although apart, we were more unified. Unquenchable flames were ignited in the youths. Productivity in our beds became the best option. We lived even when death looked us right in the eyes. The old generation came to appreciate the "demonic" technology. We realised profiteering was not the way of only the rich. The selfish attitudes of the yesterday are the survival tactics of today. The youth exuberance came with a new vibe. We held rallies and turned tables. We got beaten, burned, broken and barred. Then we were left with our dreams to wear on our sleeves. To all the fallen so...

CARPE DIEM

Don't let your dream be a whim. Pressure shouldn't hinder your vim! If the face of your future doesn't appeal, go get a trim. If your dreams depict a sea, go take a swim! One soul on an adventurous quest... Flipping through pages of life with zest. Like the sun rises from the east only to set in the west; Courageously passing every test to complete the quest. In the future, be the guest who responded to the request. Though you might not have enough beauty to please your viewing pleasure, Nor speak proficiently to soothe your listening ear Nor be convincing enough to make you believe everything about me, Nor be smart enough to break Guinness world records... Yet you have something to offer! They have your attention now, cheers. See this, if you don't have a father figure, then you might not have the feathers to fly farther and further in life. Express your gratitude to your mother for the magnanimity she nurtured you with. You must do all you can whi...

It’s not easy, not impossible

This really happened; she walked towards me with well-calculated steps and gorgeously stood before me with such a radiant smile. Very infectious and I had no choice so I smiled back at her. That meant a lot to me. All other thoughts froze in my head. My heartbeat was in rhythm with the smiles. Like a dream, I did not want to wake up but I had already started with self-introduction. “My name is Victor Ayertey and I followed your tweets and they literally engaged my thoughts. I listened to and watched videos of you performing as a gem. This birthed the interaction that led me to the opportunity to meet you today at this premise …” jumping in like a skydiver, she said “you are welcome…” and she spoke as if she rehearsed what she had to say to me. I was dumbfounded but I had to swiftly adapt to the moment in order to be on the same page as her. She was and is eloquent and proficient. At some point, it seemed as if I was watching some kind of fairy tale. Not really, i...

PEACE EQUALS LIFE

IMCS PAX ROMANA PAX GHANA PEACE PROJECT (PAGHAPP) MESSAGE FOR THIS YEAR, 2016 “The mountains and hills may crumble, but my love for you will never end; I will keep forever my promise of peace. So says the Lord who loves you” (Isaiah 54:10). Peace is a necessity.  It is a prerequisite to every final decision and step that to be taken. What more could a community search for? We as a people can fend for ourselves, if they leaders (political parties) believe we need assistance in these days, then it should not be on disguised conditions. In those days and months past, they had much more room to have supported us to make our livelihood better. We know the difference between the sunlight and lanterns. Whereas they pretended not to have been aware of our various needs over the years, we cannot compromise now. Please do not make the generation suffer your nuisance and negligence. Over the years, our leaders in Ghana have in one or another, maltreated and denied us the citiz...
