Tattered Dreams

They played the part yet plot the pact. Instead of repair, they lead in the shadow to rip the earth; Our gods are not to blame but them. They have betrayed our ancestors, Posterity can wait no longer. Arriving from yonder, they have come to judge our every move, To the letter in every decision backing our move. Dear Mother, my honour is stained and tattered! To where has my father departed? It seems our collective dream has shattered, The pieces pierced our feet and bruised our skin. My siblings' wail but the elders make merry. Our village is lurking around wealth, But our daily bread is locked up in the vault. We dread treading the path to revolt, And gathering momentum outgrow our ill-health. This is not the future we dreamed of. Our dreams, precious like the mineral that has taken our place now. The elders paraded the corners of my street with pseudo promises. We’d believed for a moment but our springs quickly dried up, And they silently masterminded the raid to rip our homes...

In 2020...

We defied the odds. We make history in the present. 'Normal' is a thing of the past. Together means miles apart. Not all theories are not potent. The context is valuable content. Our survival remains constant. The reality means your breath intake is consistent. The wall is the law. A winning trump card is forbidden. And home shielded us from the omen. We understood that all things are possible. Although apart, we were more unified. Unquenchable flames were ignited in the youths. Productivity in our beds became the best option. We lived even when death looked us right in the eyes. The old generation came to appreciate the "demonic" technology. We realised profiteering was not the way of only the rich. The selfish attitudes of the yesterday are the survival tactics of today. The youth exuberance came with a new vibe. We held rallies and turned tables. We got beaten, burned, broken and barred. Then we were left with our dreams to wear on our sleeves. To all the fallen so...

I want to go back

I want to go back I want to go back to Ghana where I can play in the sand When the time had no direction and we had nothing to worry about; it was worth it. Just so you know, the hourglasses had no sand And we would have every reason to gaze in awe of the moon while lying on our back There were times when we did not know how to react to the beats from the band Talk of "we are going; heaven knows where we are going"  a tune from way back Please put the cassette on replay, I want to listen to the Osibisa band. Gosh, I want to go back I want to go back I want to go back to the days I had no worries In my childhood when I could play till dusk When families were always together In one piece, we peacefully gathered around the dancing flames And friends stuck with each other even in the withered storms To those days when grandpa was our hero And the father was hailed by all when he came back from hunting, accompanied by bush meat To those days befo...

Footslog

Life is beautifully designed Crafted with handsome hands It goes on no matter what happens. Interestingly, We laugh at ourselves to the core With tears of Joy We tease each other too Correcting the minor mistakes we'd made Knowing that there's no easy way out “Simple” You inspire me to know how wealthy that means And I don't want to see defeat Because things got complicated and tough But you also believe that conditions aren't permanent That the situations only get better with hard work A walk in the Livingstone Park   Prodigy, Having confidence with complements I see that in your eye all the time I see how tender your heart can be You’re tenacious with a touch of softness Grace I share in your all You radiate wisdom in its glory I'm a catalyst for progress Thus, believing in every step of the way I'll be here  You'll be here too So let's keep marching on in life

PEACE EQUALS LIFE

IMCS PAX ROMANA PAX GHANA PEACE PROJECT (PAGHAPP) MESSAGE FOR THIS YEAR, 2016 “The mountains and hills may crumble, but my love for you will never end; I will keep forever my promise of peace. So says the Lord who loves you” (Isaiah 54:10). Peace is a necessity.  It is a prerequisite to every final decision and step that to be taken. What more could a community search for? We as a people can fend for ourselves, if they leaders (political parties) believe we need assistance in these days, then it should not be on disguised conditions. In those days and months past, they had much more room to have supported us to make our livelihood better. We know the difference between the sunlight and lanterns. Whereas they pretended not to have been aware of our various needs over the years, we cannot compromise now. Please do not make the generation suffer your nuisance and negligence. Over the years, our leaders in Ghana have in one or another, maltreated and denied us the citiz...

International Movement of Catholic Students (IMCS) PAX ROMANA,Ghana Federation

Giving the giver that gives you peace and love from the bosom of the size-less heart all the praise  We are matching up to the ends of the earth to make sure that our task of discipleship really goes aboard; this is the title of our hymn “LIBERATION FOR PEACE”    The Holy Spirit knows boundaries; he cannot be limited in his own jurisdiction. So moving on to proclaim that which we have been taught by the teacher, we shall spearhead the action and affirm someday to come “THAT CHRIST MAY BE IN ALL” Not forgetting to promote the student Apostolate among students in higher education, in the Church’s mission and in the world; we came into existence to continue preaching and teaching the word that have life in itself to manifest wonderful and marvelous things according to the Will of the creator, Our Father... Moreover we recognize and work with all concerned men and women for joint action and reflection leading to a more just and equitable social order a...
