Footslog

Life is beautifully designed Crafted with handsome hands It goes on no matter what happens. Interestingly, We laugh at ourselves to the core With tears of Joy We tease each other too Correcting the minor mistakes we'd made Knowing that there's no easy way out “Simple” You inspire me to know how wealthy that means And I don't want to see defeat Because things got complicated and tough But you also believe that conditions aren't permanent That the situations only get better with hard work A walk in the Livingstone Park   Prodigy, Having confidence with complements I see that in your eye all the time I see how tender your heart can be You’re tenacious with a touch of softness Grace I share in your all You radiate wisdom in its glory I'm a catalyst for progress Thus, believing in every step of the way I'll be here  You'll be here too So let's keep marching on in life

Pray

He told me to pray: For i t is good that you pray. You're a child of God. You believe in the goodness of the Lord. Praying helps you to get closer, stay in His presence and love God more. He's got you covered all through your life  And leads you on the path of righteousness  To ensure that all His promises for your life are fulfilled.   Also, it helps you to remember the Lord in the days of your youth  So that when you grow up, you will not regret not knowing him. When I pray every day and read my bible, I will grow.

MEETING POPE FRANCIS: MY ‘CHRISTUS VIVIT’ EXPERIENCE

The Lord is our shepherd and we are blessed to be under His watch. I was a pilgrim to the Vatican City while representing Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference (GCBC) and the Ghana National Catholic Youth Council (GHANCYC) as a delegate at the 11 th International Youth Forum. Like any youth, I am interested in the Church and the love it shares with the various communities around the world. I will share some thoughts and experiences with you. Victor among the delegate during one of the sessions In the month of June 2019, the Universal Church led by the Dicastery of Life, Family and Youth at the Vatican organized the 11 th  International Youth Forum dubbed  “Youth in action in a synodal Church” . This gathered about 250 youths, including 3 Ghanaian delegates, from more than 120 countries in Rome. The forum aimed at promoting the implementation of the final document from Synod of Bishops on young people, faith and vocational discernment. Thus, this Post-Synodal forum was ...

Sunset, YES!

Sunset view from the Livingstone Park in Zambia One of my favourite moments in life is seeing the sun set in its rightful place. Oh, the joy that brews in my heart is incomprehensible  I get teary anytime I miss that moment  It is so precious Words are insufficient when talking about the setting of the Sun I feel the goosebumps especially when I believe I am on that seashore The sight of the big reddish-orange ball hanging in the sky as it flashes its sparkling rays over the wavy sea is just soothing But in my village, I smell the hope that comes with the dusk And that’s the beauty of twilight  I believe it is evidence of the Lord’s goodness The calmness it brings is therapeutic  It gives me a sense of assurance that tomorrow is a treasure vault  A wise man always whispers to me, aspire for greatness In recurrence, you will rise and set You're the son of the Sun Captured through a bus window while I was crossing from Zambia t...

Cross and Portrait

Then I heard a voice from heaven “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am pleased.” Listen to Him! He who knew no sin became like us But in our daily lives, we struggle to become like Christ We are sinners! Yes, we are a sinner! And we do not deserve how close we have come with you on this journey But your blood has washed and presented us to yourself for your own purpose My Lord, my God! Even under the heavyweight of the cross, your love did not waiver. Yet under its shadows, you still expressed such unconditional love to Veronica Blessing humanity with a godly portrait of your dear scarred face Making use of the blood that gushed from the piercings of the thorny crown and the collage of bruises on your face It reminds me of the value you place on an unworthy son and servants like us But here on earth We have clogged our ears to the wailings of our brothers and sisters We come from all walks of life, sit in these pews and together with the choir we s...

IT'S ABOUT PERSEVERANCE

Recently, a colleague shared with me his experience with someone. " Yesterday I was at buys junction waiting for a bus to come pick me up.  After some few minutes, I heard the sound of a horn several times louder than the beginning so to me I took it that, for a busy road like that why bother think the person was calling me. And even we were far apart (about 120m). So I ignored the horn and at this time the horn had changed to a voice and I heard "heeey". With this the man drew my attention so I turned looking at his location and I realised it was an "Okada" (Commercial motor) driver. He then raised his hand asking me where I was going. Also with a hand, I communicated to him that I was going nowhere but waiting for someone. He left at that period and these were the thoughts that started dancing in my brain as I smiled" 1. The man means business this year! 2. He cares not who looks at him, so he wasn't intimidated by the mere passersby. 3....

Love chapter me verses you

This is a preface to our story One of the best decisions we made was to start nurturing our love, it is our confidence Darling, did you know it takes about 8 minutes for the photons emitted from the surface of the sun to reach the earth? But it takes about 8 milliseconds for me to feel the sounds of your rhythmic heartbeats no matter the distance between our locations. I bet the sun was happy to be a witness when God was crafting and weaving the contours of your physique and the makeup of your being. You glow gloriously. You are a miracle propeller. Your zeal for wisdom is remarkable. I believe the Lord has blessed me with the courage to share in your knowledge. The blueprint of our road map shall be inspired by 1 Corinthians 13, John 15 and Proverbs 31. This love shall bind us together and we shall bear everlasting fruits. You shall be the ideal woman in our home. Our table shall be surrounded with adorable gifts from God Your praise, O Lord, we shall always sing. Through...

Angelic & Devils

I walk on the wrong path, yet they encourage me. Acting as though they want my best, they lie to me. They seek my downfall. Beaming, they lie to me I look away and I'm made fun of I turn my back and they laugh I ask if all is well, yet they tell reply "All is perfect" Is there any more TRUTH? Why DECEPTION  all around? With grins, they excellently hide their deceits. They look like angels yet devils in disguise. I look around and I see Angels. Yes, angels! Heavenly beings adorning the earth Brightening the world with their smiles But I look into their eyes and only one thing comes to mind Are such gems real? Written by J-Elle

We’re symbiotic

Here and now, that’s where we stand and are prepared for the conquest Our stance is affirmed on a solid rock We leave no traces, there are no clues for stalkers Our mystery has that surprise instinct Just like a bee sting, it has that uncommon sensation It is about us, only their nostrils will be blessed to smell the fragrance of our love Right and left, there are life’s tit-bits for us to scribe Life left us not, we live right in it Right before us, we have our path laid Left with us alone we would run to catch up with the future But the right thing is, we have to thread gracefully until we arrive and settle in the destined abode Interestingly, I’m left, you’re right and that’s what makes life completely interesting We complement each other Our life is a Venn diagram We have a universal purpose to garner all our set efforts for the journey ahead I have my fears, you have yours too But our goal is to grow in the graceful stature And favour must ...

Youth for Peace - #SDG16

The year 2019 is not waiting for us if we cannot keep up with the pace. Each of us has something worth fighting for. We desire to live in peace, harmony, and share the love we have got stored up in our hearts. Beyond the boundaries of our communities, we still have responsibilities to either perform the tasks or keep others in check. Accountability can never be overlooked in this process. Whether it will affect us directly or indirectly. In January, I had the opportunity to be a part of a training workshop for West Africans dubbed “Gender and responsible citizenship in juvenile circles for peace in West Africa” in the relation to the peace and stability that exists in our communities and countries at large.   As one of the facilitators for the training the workshop, it was so humbling to be a part of the knowledge sharing team that was there to impart. When it comes to peace, in my view, it is very important to seek and promote the practical use of the knowledge that has be...

When all hope was lost

After all our hustle, we finally got the project. Saying we were ecstatic would even be an understatement. Words could not express the joy we felt. We were so happy!! We knew our path to greatness had begun. We could taste success though it seemed miles away. Our journey of a thousand mile, we had begun with a step of attaining the project. "Yes, we finally did it!!" - we exclaimed. Filled with hope we began the project, our journey. Our project was to be completed in a year. We often would say "A year is more than we need. We can finish in less than 11." Filled with hope, we did our best. "The path to success is not rosy." "Nothing good comes easy." "Great successes are borne out of great sufferings." With these words in our minds, we worked hard. We gave it all we had. Day and night we worked. Hardly resting.  All was going well. We were on track. We were filled with so much joy. We knew we had completed abo...

In the Bosom

There are many ups and downs in life. Some tend to experience many downs Others, many ups I experience both Equally I must add.   Lately I've been stressed I am tired. I am confused and sleepy. I am exhausted. Yet I must suceeed!   I require a place to hide. I demand relaxation. I necessitate happiness. Yet I look all around me and find no place to luxuriate.   Then you came along. Though we are miles apart Each day you are with me. Though I experience life with all its pressures. I am ever delighted. For there is joy in the bosom of my E.A. Written by J-Elle
