We’re symbiotic

Here and now, that’s where we stand and are prepared for the conquest Our stance is affirmed on a solid rock We leave no traces, there are no clues for stalkers Our mystery has that surprise instinct Just like a bee sting, it has that uncommon sensation It is about us, only their nostrils will be blessed to smell the fragrance of our love Right and left, there are life’s tit-bits for us to scribe Life left us not, we live right in it Right before us, we have our path laid Left with us alone we would run to catch up with the future But the right thing is, we have to thread gracefully until we arrive and settle in the destined abode Interestingly, I’m left, you’re right and that’s what makes life completely interesting We complement each other Our life is a Venn diagram We have a universal purpose to garner all our set efforts for the journey ahead I have my fears, you have yours too But our goal is to grow in the graceful stature And favour must ...

Youth for Peace - #SDG16

The year 2019 is not waiting for us if we cannot keep up with the pace. Each of us has something worth fighting for. We desire to live in peace, harmony, and share the love we have got stored up in our hearts. Beyond the boundaries of our communities, we still have responsibilities to either perform the tasks or keep others in check. Accountability can never be overlooked in this process. Whether it will affect us directly or indirectly. In January, I had the opportunity to be a part of a training workshop for West Africans dubbed “Gender and responsible citizenship in juvenile circles for peace in West Africa” in the relation to the peace and stability that exists in our communities and countries at large.   As one of the facilitators for the training the workshop, it was so humbling to be a part of the knowledge sharing team that was there to impart. When it comes to peace, in my view, it is very important to seek and promote the practical use of the knowledge that has be...

When all hope was lost

After all our hustle, we finally got the project. Saying we were ecstatic would even be an understatement. Words could not express the joy we felt. We were so happy!! We knew our path to greatness had begun. We could taste success though it seemed miles away. Our journey of a thousand mile, we had begun with a step of attaining the project. "Yes, we finally did it!!" - we exclaimed. Filled with hope we began the project, our journey. Our project was to be completed in a year. We often would say "A year is more than we need. We can finish in less than 11." Filled with hope, we did our best. "The path to success is not rosy." "Nothing good comes easy." "Great successes are borne out of great sufferings." With these words in our minds, we worked hard. We gave it all we had. Day and night we worked. Hardly resting.  All was going well. We were on track. We were filled with so much joy. We knew we had completed abo...

In the Bosom

There are many ups and downs in life. Some tend to experience many downs Others, many ups I experience both Equally I must add.   Lately I've been stressed I am tired. I am confused and sleepy. I am exhausted. Yet I must suceeed!   I require a place to hide. I demand relaxation. I necessitate happiness. Yet I look all around me and find no place to luxuriate.   Then you came along. Though we are miles apart Each day you are with me. Though I experience life with all its pressures. I am ever delighted. For there is joy in the bosom of my E.A. Written by J-Elle

The RE-ADJUSTEMENT

Unannounced, she leaves saying no goodbyes. Unheralded, she passes on giving no warnings. Unpredictably, she transmutes from earthly being to an Angel -  Our little saint Your unexpected exit has left me in shambles. I'm a total mess - confusion all over. Those you left behind are all at sea. My befuddled mind refuses to accept your departure. We had plans - a brighter future, a happy future I knew our unforseen issues would be solved because we got each other's back. Then you left! No good byes, no warnings  You just left! You were to cater for half and I the other. Though we were opposites, we were to supplement each other like the Chinese yin-yang.  Yet you travelled home without giving me heads up. Inside the maze

Reality check; life seems to present me with camouflaged routes. But I believe my end shall be glorious. I will genuflect in praise of my Father for his goodness It is no surprise that every human being is defensive even in trivial matters We can't seem to be enough for ourselves We toil day in and day out, we sacrifice a lot just to make ends meet. In all aspects of our lives, we desire perfection and much more. But how much is enough? At a point in my life, I wanted to become everything I had imagined possible Being a blessed family man, prolific public speaker and a global development advocate was on top of my list The future is uncertain, but I am not giving up on my dreams. I believe I am gradually becoming a visionary. I expected nature to understand my quest to be the successful Victor in life. I thought if I knew everything about something I will become some kind of superhero. I contemplated living my very own fairy tale. Sometimes I get worried, I get sca...
